Mandell Appointed to Oceania Athletics Coaches Association

GTFA public relations officer, Desmond Mandell III, has been appointed to the Oceania Athletics Coaches Association (OACA) Committee for a term ending in 2023. The OACA will work directly with the Oceania Athletics Association Development Commission to provide expertise, advice and recommendations for the information on matters that support the growth, development and administration of coaching at the Area and national level through education and other related activities.
Mandell has over 9 years of coaching experience in track and field and cross country disciplines. He served as Head Coach for the Guam National Athletics Team at the 2017 Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games in Turkmenistan, the 2018 Micronesian Games in Yap, and the 2019 Pacific Games in Samoa. At the local high school level, he has developed teams into championship contenders with multiple team and individual championships.
