Green Completes Season at the 2022 World Athletics Championships

Joseph Green represented Guam in the 200 meters on July 18, 2022, at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon. Green competed in Heat 2 of 7 and finished in 22.04 seconds, just 0.03 seconds away from his personal best of 22.01 seconds. He raced against some of the world's top athletes, including Jereem Richards of Trinidad and Tobago, and Aaron Brown of Canada, who both later advanced to the 200m Finals.

The World Athletics Championships is the premier event hosted by World Athletics and featured approximately 2,000 athletes representing over 200 nations from around the globe. This year was the first time the U.S. hosted the event. The World Athletics Championships is the third-largest sporting event in the world and is held biennially.
